On Saturday, April 21, the Gaston County Chapter participated in the 10th Annual Run for the Money fundraising event sponsored by the Community Foundation.
Activities throughout the morning included a 5K competitive run and 2K fun walk, karaoke competition, information booths, singing, dancing, Zumba and more.
Emergency Services volunteers and members of our Youth Leadership Development program helped serve water to runners and walkers at the finish line.
Volunteers also manned the Red Cross booth, where we provided information on being prepared for emergencies like tornados and other major weather events, brochures describing our different program services and an opportunity to sign up for a blood drive at the chapter on the 24th.
Cruz Roja program leader Helen Herdon represented the chapter as our volunteer in the 5K race.
