Dozens of law enforcement officers were involved in the manhunt for Everette Hewitt northeast of Hickory late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
The American Red Cross provided food and drinks for the agencies involved in the hunt. On Tuesday night, the Red Cross fed 50 law enforcement officers. Two volunteers canteened throughout the night, and Wednesday morning, the Red Cross fed 75 emergency personnel breakfast.
